It takes a master rubber craftsman 2 years to fully master the 60 production steps required to make one boot. Each boot is individually checked to ensure it is waterproof.

  • 1853

    Hiram Hutchinson, an American living in France, bought the patent for vulcanizing rubber from Charles Goodyear and, in 1853, created the brand "A l'Aigle" in reference to the American eagle.

  • 1920’s to 1960’s

    Creating rubber and canvas shoes for sport and leisure.

  • 1972

    Blue watersports boots with two white stripes launched to coincide with the Olympic games in Munich.

  • 1989

    Launch of urban and country clothing and footwear lines; First store opens in Saint-Germain-des-Près.

  • 1993

    The first Tokyo store opens in Shibuya. Today, Aigle has over 250 stores in Asia.

  • 2010

    The international exhibition "Savoir-faire / Savoir-vivre" opens.

  • 2013

    The brand celebrates its 160th anniversary and launches a Heritage collection showcasing its know-how.

  • 2014

    Opening of the new family home, www.aigle.com, which shows the way to our Asian websites.

    L’Atelier Aigle, multi-brand pop-up store in the east of Paris, transforms itself and presents a selection of premium and iconic products of the brand.

    The stores in Ternes and the "Festival Walk" mall in Hong-Kong are transformed into family homes.

    The brand makes a capsule collection with Nigel Cabourn inspired by the mix of vintage French workwear and traditional British hunting attire.

    The new advertising campaign "It’s Wild Out There" spotlights nature into the city.
